COVID-19:

CEAL & ORANGE COUNTY COVID EQUITY COMMUNITY RESPONSE

Due to a prolonged pandemic, disproportionately high infection and death rates in Santa Ana, and a delayed and insufficient response from local health officials, GREEN-MPNA began a collaboration that includes the National Institutes of Health initiative Community Engagement Alliance (CEAL), UC Irvine, James Madison Elementary, Families Together Community Clinics and the Orange County COVID Equity Community Response. Together, we address COVID-19 disparities. Starting April 2020, GREEN-MPNA began to offer COVID-19 town halls guided by volunteer physicians. By hosting clinics at Madison Elementary and making referrals to other vaccination sites, we have successfully vaccinated more than 1,000 individuals from Madison Park and surrounding communities

Our goal is to decrease vaccine hesitancy in underserved communities across Santa Ana by equipping residents with accurate and up-to-date information pertaining to COVID. Together we have increased vaccine uptake and decreased the rates of newly infected individuals from COVID-19.

Having good health is good for everyone. GREEN-MPNA is committed to improving community health by: Providing economic resources, improving the physical environment, offering educational programs, promoting healthy nutrition , advocating for community engagement and offering referrals to quality health care. In 2021, GREEN-MPNA provided $300 food vouchers to families impacted by COVID-19.
