Residents and community advocates in Santa Ana are questioning whether regional air quality regulators are doing enough to address pollution concerns in their neighborhoods. During a public forum organized with support from UC Irvine researchers, residents discussed emissions from nearby industrial facilities and raised concerns about gaps in regulatory oversight and available pollution data.
Local community groups, including Green-MPNA, have pushed for greater transparency and accountability from agencies responsible for monitoring air pollution. The discussion highlighted the need for clearer reporting, better data access, and stronger engagement between regulators and the communities most affected by environmental hazards.
