Aylin’s family emigrated from Guerrero, Mexico and moved to the Madison neighborhood when she was born. She attended Madison Elementary, Mendez Fundamental Intermediate, and Godinez Fundamental High School. She is a first-generation college graduate and the first in her family to graduate from college. She graduated from UC San Diego with an Environmental Systems degree specializing in Environmental Chemistry. Previously, she worked at an environmental organization in San Diego called I Love A Clean San Diego as a bilingual Outreach Assistant providing support to their Education and Community Engagement departments. She hopes to use her background to give back to her community by promoting community involvement, environmental education, and working towards a safer and healthier environment.
