Leonel L. Flores, B.A. – born in Fountain Valley, California, Mr. Flores is a lifelong resident of the Madison Park Neighborhood. He attended Madison Elementary, and received his high school diploma from Godinez Fundamental High School in 2011. As a high school student, Mr. Flores volunteered with the Madison Park Neighborhood Association (MPNA), and was the first recipient of the MPNA Textbook Scholarship in 2011. Mr. Flores has always had a calling to make his neighborhood better which is why he first volunteered. Following high school, Mr. Flores attended the University of California, Los Angeles where he joined the first Latino Fraternity in the nation, Lambda Theta Phi Latin Fraternity, Inc. Mr. Flores continued serving the community as a mentor at Jordan High School in the Watts and the Judy Baca Arts Academy in South Central Los Angeles. In 2018, Mr. Flores completed his undergraduate degree at UCLA, with a major in Sociology and minor in Chican@ Studies. Currently, Mr. Flores serves as the Community Organizer for (GREEN) Getting Residents Engaged in Empowering Neighborhoods and leads our community air monitoring network steering committee, known as Comunidad Unida Aire Limpio (CUAL). Additionally, Mr. Flores is currently an advisory board member for the organization.
