UCI Takes First Place in EPA Environmental Justice Video Challenge for Students

UC Irvine students, working alongside community partners such as MPNA Green, earned first place in the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s Environmental Justice Video Challenge. The winning video highlighted environmental justice challenges faced by frontline communities and emphasized the importance of resident voices in shaping solutions.

The project showcased MPNA Green’s role in supporting youth engagement, storytelling, and community-centered approaches to environmental advocacy. By elevating lived experience and local knowledge, the collaboration demonstrated how academic institutions and community organizations can work together to raise awareness and inspire action around environmental health and equity.
